First of all…we would like to welcome our new students to the American Black Belt Academy. Remember, “the longest journey begins with the first step”. We are proud to have you here and look forward to helping each and every one of you achieve your goals.
The Academy was rocking on October 29th with the Fall 2011 Black Belt Exam. Congratulations to the 19 students who tested last Saturday. Grandmaster Park, Grandmaster Kurban, Grandmaster Fisher and so many of the ABBA Masters honored us with their presence presiding over the board. Thanks and congratulations to Master Nicholas Villalobos who tested for 6th Dan and brought several students to test.
The Black Belt Exam is always a special day for the school, students, family and friends. Congratulations to American Black Belt Academy’s own Dalton Potter who made his black belt and had an outstanding test, making us all proud! On a great overall test surrounded by so many outstanding students, Mr. Potter’s test shined bright. Also testing were Master Kevin Brown and Master Ed Copeland who attained the rank of 5th Dan (Master Black Belt). Both gentlemen had outstanding tests and have dedicated a lifetime to martial arts, both in training and teaching. Their forms, fighting, self-defense, and breaks were amazing! They are pillars of the American Black Belt Academy and we are so proud of this well-deserved recognition as Masters.

On Nov 5th, Grandmaster Kurban provided a seminar here at the Academy and it was a great day for those who were here to learn from the Grandmaster. Martial Arts is a lifetime of learning, it never ends. It is important to continue to learn, to continue to grow, and to be thirsty for knowledge always.
Coming up on Nov 12th is Master Johnson’s TBBA Tournament @ UTA, the final TKL event of the year. We hope to have a huge turnout as this is always a great event. If you haven’t already done so, please get signed up ASAP!
